Hi everyone!
I just wanted to state that we're officially adding Pop Race to the mix. They're a newer diecast company founded in 2019 in Hong Kong by racing driver Marchy Lee. Their outside detail is on par with Mini GT and Tarmac Works BUT where they really shine is that *almost* all of them roll and have opening parts with extremely detailed engine bays. To top it all off, they normally retail somewhere between Mini GT and Tarmac Works, so they're amazing for the price! I honestly can't get enough of them. And you know they're getting serious since they've recently started a partnership with with Liberty Walk, taking Mini GT's previous price point!
You all may be familiar with Pop Race without even knowing it. The blue chrome RX-7 and gold Supra we feature at the front of our pages are actually Pop Race. The third car, the Civic behind the two, is a Kaido House x Mini GT. The detail is AMAZING to see in a 1:64 scale car. The intake, turbo, engine, strut braces and other parts are ALL separate pieces. Hot Wheels will always have a special place in my heart but even the RLC's, at a higher price point, don't have nearly this level of intricate detail.
Pop Race also seems to have some great timing, releasing the pre-order for a nice looking Evangelion Racing GR86 set, right around the same time that the MF Ghost hype train is building up. If you haven't caught it yet, it feels like a spiritual successor to Initial D, right down to the primary car being the spiritual successor to the AE86, the GR86. While the people sometimes look like titans (from Attack on Titan), Kai LOVES this show.
