Skeleton Rexy ETA Updates!

Skeleton Rexy ETA Updates!

Update 6/3/26:

The Mini GT 1:64 Skeleton Rexies are at the distributor. They're paid for and being shipped now. The next update we share with everyone will be tracking numbers!

The Top Speed 1:18 Skeleton Rexies are being checked on by the distributor. We've reached out to everyone privately and will update you all when we get more information.

Update 5/30/26:

We have been speaking to the exclusive North American Mini GT distributor 2x a week and continuously stalk their website hourly for updates. They have received zero units. This is a nationwide and global supply issue, not isolated to Kai's Kollectibles. It would be nice to mirror Porsche's business style and send production updates like "your car just left the factory" or "it's on the ship", but Mini GT and their US distributor simply aren't set up that way. They notify us only when stock arrives in California and is ready for pickup.

You may have seen posts online from people who already received a Skeleton Rexy. Those came from AO Racing, the motorsport team whose livery the model is based on. They released a limited special edition tied directly to their team, which has since sold out and is no longer available. It was priced $9 higher than the standard Mini GT release and featured different card art. That's a separate product through a separate channel.
Worth noting: AO Racing is first and foremost a racing team, and an incredible one at that. But diecast collecting has its own standards that take time to learn. Their units shipped in bubble mailers. I know this firsthand because I ordered one myself and received it with a bent blister pack. For collectors, condition is everything. That's why at Kai's every order is packed with protection in mind, not just shipped to arrive.

As stated in the 5/10 update, the broader delay comes down to global supply chain disruptions. Tariffs slowed production, creating a backlog, and ongoing instability affecting oil supply through the Strait of Hormuz has created a true logjam for manufacturers like Mini GT who rely heavily on plastic production. These are factors completely outside our control or influence.

In addition to subscribing to our email list, we would highly recommend following this blog and watching the Reddit MiniGT sub for updates from the community and industry insiders. https://www.reddit.com/r/MiniGT/

Update 5/10/26
:

We have no news as of this moment, however with the recent US & Iran conflict, the Strait of Hormuz has been shut down. This is where China gets up to 50% of it's oil and some news outlets report critical shortages and rationing. Unfortunately this may apply to the plastics and resin used to make diecast cars as well as the shipping methods to bring these items to the US.

Like you all, I have stared into the abyss that is Pre-Order

Many of you were patient. We appreciate that. Some were like "Hey, you have any updates...

BUT, there is light at the end of the tunnel!

AO Racing, the IMSA racing company that created the Rexy, Roxy, S.Rexy & Spike liveries sent out a recent update. They state that:

all 3 scales of Spike and the 1:43 & 1:18 S.Rexy should be received around the 2nd week of April, barring any unforeseen shipping delays.

The Skeleton Rexy 1:64 model is expected to arrive around the 2nd week of May. Kai's psyched for his copy. I'm psyched to box up 1xx S.Rexies and send them out to all of you!

I'm going to mirror AO Racing's small request as well. We're an even smaller team fulfilling a high volume of orders and the same people (me) answering emails are the ones packing shipments. Unless you need to change your shipping preference or update your address, avoiding additional emails helps us to get your order out faster. If you ordered multiple pre-orders, please reach out and tell us if you want us to ship each pre-order separately (at an additional cost per shipment) or to wait and bundle it as one shipment.
